Brenda Fontenot has been a co-owner of Joan Kathey Dance Studio for 8 years. She is the head of the gymnastic and Kinderdance programs and has taught classes at the Joan Kathey Dance Center for 26 years. Brenda is married to her husband, Elvin, and she has three kids Paige, Hope, and Reagan.
Sandy Pinegar has been a co-owner of Joan Kathey Dance Studio for 8 years. She is the head of the tap and primary dance program and has taught at the Joan Kathey Dance Center for 16 years. Sandy is married to Jake, and she has two beautiful daughters Genevieve and Eva and a brand new baby boy named Hudson.
Becky Edwards has been the studio manager of Joan Kathey Dance Studio for 8 years. She is the head of the jazz and Ceccheti program and has taught classes at the Joan Kathey Dance Center for 27 years. Becky has 3 wonderful kids Matthew, Grant, and Jolee.

All Ballet students wear pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and have the option of wearing a skirt or black bootie shorts. Students requiring a bra must wear a black or flesh colored sports bra ordance bra. They must wear their hair in a bun (if not long enough hair must be worn off of their face). Each ballet level wears a different color leotard. These colors are as follows:
Kinderdance: Light Pink Leotard with or without an attached skirt
Primary: Lavendar Leotard with or without an attached skirt
Elementary: Black Leotard
Intermediate: Black Leotard
Teen: Black Leotard
Advance/Cecchetti: Black Leotard
Contemporary Students wear black leotards with pink or flesh colored tights. They may wear bootie shorts. Foot undies are needed for the class.
Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop students wear dance clothing suitable for movement. All must have shoes specific for the class ie tap-tap shoes, jazz- jazz shoes, hip hop- dance sneakers. Students requiring a bra must wear a sports or dance bra. Hair is worn in a ponytail or away from their face. Tights, of any color, must be worn with shorts exceeding 4 inches above the kneecap. NO T-SHIRTS PERMITTED IN ANY CLASS!
Gymnastics student may wear a biketard or exercise shorts with a form fitting tank top. Students must wear their hair inpony tail. No shoes are worn in gymnastics class.
If a student has a tattoo, it must be covered during class and at ALL performances.
Hair must be normal color for ALL performances: blond, black, brown, or red are the only acceptable hair colors for stage.
Students not conforming to the dress code will be asked to observe class.
A $40.00 registration fee is due upon enrollment at the studio. This is a onetime non-refundable fee which is paid annually. We offer a Family Rate for classes…PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL THE STUDIO FOR SPECIFIC PRICING INFORMATION.
Tuition is due by the 15th of the month. A late fee of $15.00 is added to late tuition payments after the 15th of the month. Late fee notices are mailed out the 3rd week of the month.
Recital Costume deposits are due by the Monday, October 16, 2017. Costumes will not be ordered for students with a negative balance on their account or unpaid deposits. We order costumes the first week of November.
Recital fees are due by the first of February. These fees help the studio cover the costs of professional lighting technicians, full glitter sets, janitorial fees associated with using the venue, etc.
